AmeriCorps, Preschool Service Corps Member – Language and Literacy Tutor
Position Summary: The Preschool Service Corps Member (PSC Member) provides direct service in a preschool classroom to assigned preschool children. The PSC member takes direction from the classroom teacher to provide high quality interaction with assigned children who are not yet at age level in language and literacy measures. She/he will be responsible for providing planned activities that are engaging, active, and hands on; document all activities, child progress, and outcomes. Additionally, she/he will participate in Children & Family Community Engagement events and volunteer recruitment along with member training throughout the program year.
Community Impact Coordinator - Smart Referral Network - Full Time
Position Summary: The Community Impact Coordinator of the Smart Referral Network will provide critical administrative and technical support to SRN Users and agency staff as part of the Community Impact team. This role will provide training, communications, outreach, partner development, plan and document meetings and support to network users. Additionally, this role will aid in the onboarding, bug reporting and testing, enhancement testing, and long-term maintenance of the SRN technology platform.
Financial Empowerment Center (FEC) Financial Counselor - Full Time
Position Summary: The Financial Empowerment Center (FEC) Financial Counselor is more than a financial coach. This position serves as a trusted partner who helps individuals and families build financial capability, overcome barriers, and achieve lasting financial stability. Through one-on-one coaching, coordinated referrals, and ongoing encouragement, the counselor helps clients move from crisis management to long-term financial mobility.
The Financial Counselor works as part of United Way Monterey County's integrated Financial Stability team, linking clients to financial education workshops, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA), benefits access, workforce development, housing resources, small business services, and other community supports. Success is measured not simply by the number of appointments completed, but by meaningful client outcomes including improved credit, reduced debt, increased savings, access to safe financial products, and progress toward each client's self-defined goals
